For Immediate Release – May 1, 2006 Attention: Financial/Business LSRI DROPS TO GREY MARKETAS CONTROVERSIAL NYSEHOSTAGE.COM AD APPEARSNew York, NY- On April 27, 2006, as animal rights activists around the world commemorated World Laboratory Animal Liberation Week, the campaign to stop the killing at Huntingdon Life Sciences (HLS) notched another important victory against the notorious animal testing lab. Last week, HLS which traded on the Pink Sheets as Life Sciences Research Inc. (Stock Symbol – LSRI) was dropped off of the lowest recognized board onto the unregulated Grey Market, as they lost their sole market maker, Vertical Group. Activist group Win Animal Rights has spearheaded the campaign against the supporters of HLS in New York's financial district. They have taken the fight against HLS to the prestigious Wall Street and posh midtown Manhattan offices of Huntingdon Life Sciences investors, market makers and customers and practice the controversial but effective tactic of protesting at the homes of influential key executives of targeted companies. Most recently they have focused their efforts on the last remaining market maker, Vertical Group, and major investor, Columbia Management, which is a subsidiary of Bank of America. Camille Hankins of Win Animal Rights, commented on the financial plight of LSRI: “Huntingdon Life Sciences is on financial quicksand. In just 8 months, LSRI has dropped from a near listing on the prestigious NYSE to being dumped unceremoniously off the Pink Sheets. I think that the NYSE did investors a service, by putting a halt to the listing. LSRI is deeply in debt and losing more customers and money every day”. On Friday, April 28, 2006, as Win Animal Rights prepared to launch a campaign against one of Huntingdon Life Sciences few remaining customers, Pfizer, a full page ad appeared in the New York Times featuring a masked man and the heading “I Control Wall Street” (NYSEHostage.com). Hankins commented on the mysterious ad: “I don't recall any activist on the hundreds of protests and leafleting days we held on Wall Street appearing in a ski mask”. She added: “It is also interesting that the masked man is wearing a leather jacket. An animal rights activist wouldn't be caught dead in leather.” Activists view the ad as another failed attempt to draw attention away from Huntingdon Life Science's failing business by playing on peoples fears and trying to paint effective advocates for animals as terrorists. Win Animal Rights co-founder, Greg Kelly had this to say about the ad: “If I want to meet a terrorist, I'll get a job at Huntingdon Life Sciences. Watch the undercover videotape of beagle puppies being punched in the face and monkeys being cut open alive and you will know that the real terrorists work for HLS”. Huntingdon Life Sciences is responsible for the killing of 500 animals every day including beagle puppies and primates. -30- For additional information, please contact: Win Animal Rights |
