Demo Reports - Monday, December 12, 2005 What better day than a Monday to visit some of the scum that provides financial support to Huntingdon Life Sciences? We began with a visit to Ellen DeNicola's office at 666 Third Avenue, home of the New York Office of American Century Investments. A loud and rowdy demonstration ensued on this busy and well-trafficked street. With a Wachovia Bank branch right next door, we felt that we just had to stop and spend some time educating Wachovia's customers about the Puppy Killer from GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) who sits on Wachovia's Board of Directors. Protesters chanted: "500 animals died today…..Robert Ingram is to blame….500 animals suffered in vain…..Wachovia Bank is to blame". The numerous customers in the totally glassed in lobby stared and grimaced at the graphic photos displayed. Some came out and told us that they would close their accounts if Wachovia didn't cut it's ties to Robert Ingram of GSK, customer of HLS. Next stop was the posh Fidelity Investments office on the Upper East Side. The entire office is on glass and although it was close to closing, there were still plenty of employees in the lobby. The bloody posters of mangled puppies displayed by the protesters shocked them. Many flyers were distributed explaining that Fidelity Investments had a major investment in LSRI (aka HLS) enabling them to continue their puppy killing and murdering ways. Fidelity Investments, be advised, you will soon become our number one target. With 8 high profile offices in key locations around Manhattan, we plan on visiting all of them on a regular basis. Fidelity, make a "SMART MOVE"…..Divest NOW. We then traveled to the swanky Madison Avenue offices of Bear Stearns, recently outted as a new Market Maker for LSRI (aka HLS). We were stunned and more than a little disgusted at the opulence and the over abundance of gaudy overdone holiday ornamentation. I wonder how their customers and employees will feel when we educate them about the blood of innocent animals being spilled at HLS….500 animals every day…..and Bear Stearns helps keep them in the puppy killing business. Shocked faces pressed against the windows of their grandiose lobby, their look of disgust showing plainly as they read the text on our signs. "Your Money….Your Fault……Your Greed…..Your Fault……Your Investment…..Your Fault" chanted the angry group of activists. We promised to return again and again until Bear Sterns stops making a market for LSRI. Just a couple of blocks further on Madison Avenue, we found ourselves in front of the office building where Fulcrum Global maintains their world headquarters. Although our energy was waning, hostility on the street from hecklers gave us the added boost we needed to finish the day as loud and rowdy as we started it. Every time we started to pack up, a passerby said or did something stupid, which only caused us to pull out the posters and stay longer. On more than one occasion verbal battles almost became physical. Good thing we always have our video camera going. This is another location that we promised to return to. We will be back, Fulcrum Global…..We will definitely be back and soon! |
