WAR Targets HLS CEO, AXA , BMS, Novartis & Fur Scum Dennis Basso

Demo #1 - Andrew Baker, CEO - Huntingdon Life Sciences

On Sunday, activists gathered for their monthly protest at the Central Park West residence of HLS Chief Puppy Killer Andrew Baker. As always, support for our issue in this neighborhood runs unusually high. We gave out literature and encouraged compassionate neighbors to come out to next months demo and join us. One individual contacted WAR’s myspace page and promised to be at the next demonstration. Speak out and chanting were minimal as we chose instead to chat with individuals and to convince them to support our campaign.

Demo #2 - Dennis Basso – Notorious NYC Furrier

On the way to our next home visit, we just happened to pass buy notorious fur scumbag Dennis Basso. We just so happened to have a few anti-fur posters and a stack of literature that we used to educate Basso’s neighbors about the bloody nature of his business. The doormen insisted that we could not carry on our demonstration on trendy Central Park West in front of Basso’s building. But, of course, activists insisted that we had every right to be there and that is exactly what we did. This coming fur season is going to be hot one for Dennis Basso and we are not talking about the weather.

Demo #3 - David Halstead – VP – AXA Financial

A short walk from Baker’s blood money apartment, led activists to the home of David Halstead, Vice President of AXA. AXA owns over 84,000 shares of LSR (HLS) stock, making them one of LSR’s largest institutional investors. What an outstanding location! Seems that there is a flea market that happens right on Halstead’s block every Sunday. There were tons of people strolling along the street and they were drawn by the sound of our chanting. We gave away tons of flyers and vowed to return to this high visibility location until AXA does the right thing and divests of their holding in LSR.

Demo #4 - Dorothy Watson – General Counsel – Novartis

Another fabulous location is the intersection of Broadway and W. 72nd Street where Dorothy Watson, General Counsel of HLS premier customer Novartis, resides in a swanky building called “The Alexandria”. Dorothy used to live elsewhere and we have been told that one of the reasons she moved was to get away from the campaign to stop the killing at HLS. One of her neighbors let us know where to find her. Seems she wasn’t very well liked in her last building. Once again, Sunday street market activity makes this one of the best outreach locations in the city, of which we took full advantage.

Demo #5 - Lamberto Andreotti – President, Worldwide Pharmaceuticals – Bristol-Myers Squibb

Last time activists where at this location, they were educating Andreotti’s neighbors about his company’s role in supporting the building of the new lab at Oxford University. It was a pleasure coming back to this posh location to talk about Andreotti and Bristol-Myers Squibb relationship with Huntingdon Life Sciences. Our large and graphic banner displaying the bloody remains of a mutilated beagle puppy is a real attention grabber. Activists distributed literature in this animal friendly neighborhood.

Demo #6 - James Shepherdson – Executive Vice President – AXA Financial

Having arrived at the last location of the evening, we once again unfurled our large banner and prepared to distribute flyers. After speaking to a very friendly doorman, we learned that Mr. Shepherdson had recently moved over to a Park Avenue condo. Although the doorman was off by one digit, we were able to find out his new and correct address. No doubt he will be getting a visit soon. Luckily, we have tons of Park Avenue addresses on our lists and we are more often on Park Avenue than even the Upper West Side.
