WAR Engages New Financial Target Revealed in Government Filings and Also Visits Novartis President

Labor Day weekend started with absolutely gorgeous weather causing many to cancel travel plans to stay in NYC. WAR took advantage of this situation to continue sending a message to HLS customer Novartis and Financial Collaborator BDO International/BDO Seidman.

Demo #1: Robert Pelzer - President - Novartis

Late afternoon, a dozen activists gathered at the posh hi-rise residence of Robert Pelzer. Although Novartis Chairman Daniel Vasella keeps whining to the press that Novartis is not doing business with Huntingdon Life Sciences (HLS), Novartis has refused to make a statement to that effect, to the campaign. Repeated attempts at correspondence have gone unanswered. The only conclusion one could reach is that they are still working with the murderous scum at HLS.

New posters naming Novartis and emblazoned with their logo, ensured that everyone passing the protest definitely knew who the target was. Hundreds of flyers featuring Robert Pelzer’s photograph and home address were distributed, so that his neighbors will know who he is if they run into him at a local store or restaurant. It is only right that while the animals held captive at Huntingdon Life Sciences are suffering on Novartis’ dime, that Mr. Pelzer should not enjoy his opulent lifestyle financed with blood money.

The sound of loud voices rose in unison as the chanting filled the warm afternoon air….”For the animals we will fight, how does Pelzer sleep at night?” and ”If you want to get some rest, cut your ties to HLS”. To their credit, many of Pelzer’s neighbors are totally supportive and often stop to chat with the protesters and offer them encouragement. Many expressed disgust at the graphic photos of mutilated beagle puppies and monkeys killed by Huntingdon Life Sciences.

Of course, there is always one crackpot in the neighborhood, who can’t wait to call the cops to try to silence the activists speaking out of a sense of conscience and compassion. Luckily, police arrived and quickly told the bad neighbor to back off. Their intervention allowed activists to continue the demonstration without disruption.

Demo #2: Wayne Kolins - Chairman of the Board BDO Seidman

After almost 2 hours at Robert Pelzer’s, activists traveled a short distance, to the luxurious home of BDO Seidman Chairman, Wayne Kolins. It was recently revealed that BDO International has been providing the financial smokescreen that allowed Huntingdon Life Sciences to arrange and manage their long-term debt. Without this service, Huntingdon Life Sciences never could have survived this long. At a time that their last long-term loan was due to be paid, BDO stepped in and allowed HLS to find another financial backer….perhaps even BDO themselves.

When Kolins’ neighbors learned of his collaboration with the animal abusing monsters at Huntingdon Life Sciences, they were extremely distressed. His Upper East Side apartment is in a neighborhood full of caring and sensitive animal lovers. Many stopped to take flyers, to ask questions and to give an enthusiastic thumb up to the protesters.

But, of course, there always seems to be that one wacko, who comes tearing out of the building and aggressively confronting the demonstrators. This location was to be no exception. A woman screaming at the tops of her lungs, with arms flailing erratically tore into the protesters calling them crazy and insisting that she was being physically assaulted. No doubt this is what she told police on the phone to get them to respond so quickly. Police quickly sized up the situation and told the woman to go back to her apartment and to stop bothering the peaceful, legal protesters.

The combined voices of the activists rang along the street as they chanted: “500 animals were murdered today, Wayne Kolins is to blame”. Mr. Kolins surely is to blame as the Chairman of the Board of BDO Seidman, he had the power to stop the deal that allowed Huntingdon Life Sciences to remain in the killing business. Shame on you, Wayne Kolins and BDO Seidman. No one would help Huntingdon Life Sciences until you came along….damn you for that. You have the blood of countless thousands of animals on your hands. How do you sleep at night?
