4th of July Homes Demos for Bristol-Myers Squibb Executives

Win Animal Rights spent their July 4th fighting to free the animal kingdom from the murderous whims of animal exploiters. Activists paid visits to the homes of top Bristol-Myers Squib executives for their continued use of Huntingdon Life Sciences, a company that has been caught repeatedly torturing animals in its care as well as falsifying research data.

Before the protests began activists organized a quaint picnic in Central Park. Battling sadistic animal abusing companies can be difficult work, and sometimes it's good to just relax a little bit with some of your mates. Cupcakes, wraps, and other delicious goodies were shared by participants. After a short while however, campaigners acknowledged work needed to be done and returned to business.

Demo #1: James Cornelius - Chairman & CEO, Bristol-Myers Squibb

Activists marched over to bustling Columbus Circle, ready to call out James Cornelius, BMS Chairman and CEO. Activists expected some resistance from the Time Warner security guards but to their surprise (and appreciation!); the building's personnel had given up trying to disrupt the peaceful demonstrations. Without the interference, the protesters took advantage and loudly shamed Mr. Cornelius: "It's your company! Your fault! Your drugs! Your fault!" Pedestrians were aghast by the images on the placards and more than a few stopped by the table to learn more about their neighbor's partnership with vicious animal abusers.

An educational outreach table added to the protester’s ability to reach a wider audience. The table was always busy as folks stopped by to learn more about the campaign and to support it by signing petitions and contributing financial support. It is always gratifying for activists to know how warmly their efforts are received. Of course, there are always one or two whackos, who insist on arguing with demonstrators about everything from abortion to leather shoes.

Demo #2: Lamberto Andreotti - President & COO, Bristol-Myers Squibb

After exposing Cornelius, protesters shifted their focus to Lamberto Andreotti, President of BMS. Hundreds of passersby, including one of Andreotti's neighbors, were awakened to the savagery going on behind closed doors. A tour bus even cheered on protesters as they chanted: "500 animals died today! Lamberto Andreotti is to blame!" During the demonstration, a group of teens walking by were so taken back by the undercover footage that they decided to join in. Their energy and loud voices were certainly more than welcome. Needless to say, the demonstration was warmly received.

Independence Day is a prime opportunity to remind people that they have a right, nay, an obligation, to stand up to injustice. There are approximately 70,000 nonhuman animals trapped inside Huntingdon Life Sciences at this very moment. All they ever get to experience in life is misery, suffering, and death. Fortunately, all of us have the power to change that, to stop the murder inside HLS. We need only try. Now get out there and get active!
