Guest Demo Report - Boston, MA

Boston Activates for Staples Weekend of Action

Once again activists were out at another Staples in the Boston area to spread the word on their contract with HLS, it's been over a month since activists had any Staples events and it was definetely time for another! We went to the Staples in Mansfield, MA on 390 West Street and dozens of leaflets left our hands in the time we were there, informing many people about Staples/HLS.

The assistant manager came out after a little while and said we couldn't be on the sidewalk because he 'owned the building' and actually tried to take the leaflets from us, nice try buddy. He went back inside to call the police, saying he'd 'be back'. Too bad we were already on the way out and weren't breaking any laws anyway. As we were far down the sidewalk, we turned around and he was motioning for us to come back! It must have been embarrassing when the cops showed up to nothing, no laws ever having been broken, with Staples video cameras to prove it. We know how the police are in Mansfield, so we know they must not have been too happy to be called to nothing. Shame on Staples for dealing with puppy-killers and shame on their employees for trying to stifle our First Amendment rights.

Staples, the number of states that have joined against you is nearly in the double digits and will be after the Weekend of Action according to online calendars, and the amount of people boycotting your company grows every day, all over one contract with the puppy-killers at HLS.

Is it really worth it to keep supplying HLS?

6/22 - Staples, 500 Grossman Drive, Braintree, MA
