Monday, February 15, 2010 Shame on Canada Protest Baby Seal Slaughter at Candian Consulate and home of Canadian Consul General ![]() Activist groups Join Forces to Protest the Barbaric Seal Slaughter in New York City Demo #1: Canadian Consulate Office - New York City Activists in New York City took advantage of the President's Day holiday (and the fact that the Canadian consulate was open) to protest against Canada's continued slaughtering of harp seals on the ice floes of Canada. The protest was organized by: freetradekillsanimals.org. In a lively bit of street theater, activists portraying Canada, Norway and the WTO competed in an Olympic event where they scored points for bludgeoning a baby seal. All the while the baby seal whimpered and cried out as the seal "hunters" rained blows on the helpless baby seal. Canada, your traditions are sickening - you've blood on your hands, and this sick bloodbath needs to end. Beating and clubbing seals, staining the ice floes bright red, skinning alive and leaving thousands of mutilated carcasses steaming and freezing on the ice - this is just disgusting, cruel and wrong. ![]() Demo #2: Daniel Sullivan, Canadian Consul General - Home Demo After finishing up at the Canadian Consulate office, they headed over to Park Avenue to Daniel Sullivan's home to protest against Canada's continued slaughtering of harp seals on the ice floes of Canada. Daniel Sullivan is the Consul General of Canada, and has the power to influence Canada to end this senseless seal cull. Daniel Sullivan, Consul General, stop the seal hunt! Activists will never back down until this killing for fur and vanity stops! The rich and stupid do NOT need new fur coats - Canada, this killing must end! ![]() Video Clips: Canadian Consulate NYC - Part 1 Canadian Consulate NYC - Part 2 Canadian Consulate NYC - Part 3 Canadian Consulate NYC - Part 4 Daniel Sullivan - Consul General - Part 1 |
