Saturday, February 11, 2006 Demos As we began, so did the snow in what was to become one of the worst snowstorms in NYC history. An activist carried a sign into the lobby just to see if Jeffrey Barker was at home and perhaps wanted to chat with us. Other activists pressed their posters up against the lobby windows causing the doormen to call the NYPD. When the police came, protesters were back on the sidewalk and continued the loud and heated protest for some time. Location #2 Location #3 Once again, neighbors watched from their windows and then came out in the snow to find out which neighbor was the “Puppy Killer” living among them. Schaffer's next door neighbors were upset to see what Robert's company invested in. They were given an info packet with a DVD of “The Truth” and we were gratified to see them watching the movie. Excellent high energy protest. Location #4 It was freezing cold out, yet, one man came out of his building in a t-shirt and came close to assaulting the activist leading the chants. Seems this man was happy that we were protesting and exercising our constitutional rights, he was just upset that he could hear us. He screamed at us that he wanted us to protest more quietly. DUH! We thought that the point of a protest was to be heard? Since Brian and his wife live on the 6 th floor, we had to be loud to be heard. The irate man in his t-shirt with bulging eyes and throbbing veins in his temples just didn't get it. We explained that we would leave just as soon as Bank of America divests their LSRI stock. Until then, we will keep coming back…..over and over…..louder and louder until our message is heard. |
