Thursay, January 17, 2008 Major HLS Customers Protested in Washington, DC On a sightseeing tour of our nation’s capital, NYC animal rights activists stepped off the Metro and found themselves in a gathering of likeminded folk… on their way to HLS and Japanese whaling/Sea Shepherd hostage protests! Join in with the Washington DC crowd of activists and shame the murderous scum who torture animals and kidnap our heroes? Of course! Demo # 1: Novartis Activists converged on the Novartis office with a strength and power that was truly breathtaking. A large banner was unrolled, depicting the mutilated remains of a beagle puppy who lost its life inside the walls of Huntingdon Life Sciences, 3 bullhorns screamed with outrage over Novartis’ continued support of this horrible murdering laboratory and signs depicting vivisected dogs, cats and other innocent creatures were pulled out to show everyone walking by just what Novartis was all about: torture, murder, lies and death! Demo #2: Merck Merck has blood on its hands for its dealings with Huntingdon Life Sciences! Protestors unfurled the mutilated beagle banner at the Merck offices and shoved signs depicting horrible images of HLS’ brand of animal cruelty in the faces of anyone leaving the building – SHAME ON YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT OF ANIMAL ABUSE, Merck! Even though the weather punished the activists with rain, sleet, hail and snow it didn’t slow them down one bit – there is NO EXCUSE for animal abuse and the loud and angry protests will go on rain or shine until HLS shuts its doors for good! At one point an overzealous “hero” ran out of the building and attacked one of the DC activists by hitting her bullhorn from her mouth. Bad move, pal! You were surrounded in less than a second and the activists laughed at you as you ran for the hills. Coward! Next time you’ll face assault charges and get to think about the part your company plays in animal cruelty – from the inside of a jail cell! Fair warning, Merck! Demo #3: Sanofi-Aventis Beaten from the wind and the sleet, activists were stil eager to shame another batch of puppy killing scumbags. Sanofi-Aventis, it’s YOUR FAULT that Huntingdon Life Sciences tortures and kills beagle puppies! It’s your fault that HLS cuts primates open alive, conscious and without anesthetic! It’s your fault that mice and rats are killed by the millions! And you’d better believe the protestors sure let you and your neighbors know, exactly, whose money funds that kind of animal cruelty at HLS!
