Back to Back ASPCA Demos at Headquarters and CEO's Home

Demo #1: ASPCA Headquarters

Activists traveled from Central Park to the ASPCA's upper eastside headquarters building. There they displayed signs calling out the ASPCA for their treatment of the "miracle dog" Oreo, who survived a six story fall only to land in the ASPCA where she was nursed back to health and then killed by fatal injection.

Although WAR has tried to contact the ASPCA on several occasions, all attempts to dialogue with them have been ignored. WAR has asked for the release of the report of the second independent animal behaviorist to no avail.

What is the ASPCA trying to hide?

Demo #2: Home of Ed Sayres - CEO of ASPCA

A short walk away, protesters line the street in front of Ed Sayres upper eastside apartment. Once again, signs were held high as voices were raised in chant. "Ed Sayres Lied, Oreo Died" and "Ed Sayres Lied, Max Died".

Literature was distributed and some took a handful of flyers in order to distribute them in Ed's building.

Protesters shouted out for Ed Sayres immediate resignation. Building residents expressed sympathy for Oreo and support for the campaign to get Justice for Oreo. Many swore that they would discontinue their contributions to the ASPCA.

Activists took the opportunity to educate the public about the newly proposed Oreo's Law. This important legislation would insure that what happened to Oreo will never happen again.
